Boring Moving Updates

Loopis Lindsey and I signed a 15-month lease today for the apartment we're going to be moving into. We ended up with the smaller of the two bed/two bath, 1100 sq. ft. It feels awkward to think about my new apartment being bigger than my parent's place, and sharing it with one less person.

Lindsey decided to take the smaller room because it has more windows, so I get the master bed and bath (no complaints here!) and can finally use all the furniture in my set, once I get a queen-sized mattress. The bathroom is considerably larger than the one I have now, with much more storage space. The only thing I'm losing out on is a tub (it's got a tiled stand-up shower) but I don't take many baths anyway, and I'm sure if I wanted to Lindsey wouldn't mind letting me use her tub.

My next $1,000 goes directly to rent and move-in fees, then I can start putting more money toward paying off my credit card, which has gotten a little out of hand due to all my unexpected expenses (wisdom teeth extraction, Simba's outrageous vet bill, etc.), but can be completely paid off by the end of the year.

I'm not sure how I'm going to handle getting the queen bed put back together, though. The last time I slept in it, I had cuddled up to Joey and felt romantic. But it's not him I'm nostalgic for, it's sharing a giant bed with someone. Sleeping on the futon has temporarily remedied that because there's really only enough room for one person (i.e. me) to sleep comfortably. I guess I'll find out soon how I'll react to sleeping in big bed by myself.

And speaking of soon, the move-in date was pushed up to the 20th of July, almost a full month earlier than we had planned on. Lindsey's going to move in first, and I'm going to paint the room after the 20th, and rent a U-Haul on the 28th to move in my stuff, which I'll start packing away in the next few days. Ha, then after I move in I'm going on vacation to Connecticut for over a week, so I won't get to immediately enjoy all my hard work.

Friday Linds, Renee and I are going to Pulp to hang out with Stavros and the crew and quite possibly make drunken fools of ourselves. Albert's out of town, so Linds and the recently single Renee and I will dress it up a bit and make it a ladies night.

Remember those teal heels I showed you?

Yeah, that's right. I'm going to be working them out.
